The Future of Farming

I found this on my facebook from a friend that is still in FFA. For you that do not know what that is, it use to stand for Future Farmers of America. Now its just known as the FFA. Its one of the largest teenage ran organizations in America and in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. The sad thing is its slowly disappearing. I was a member in high school and enjoyed every minute. It taught me more bout farming, welding, carpentry and wildlife beyond what I already knew. But sadly the school was 'over budget' and it cut the agriculture class and FFA out, even tho it was the largest organization in the school. It's all bout sports now in school, that teaches you nothin in life. Also other organizations are putting the pressure on FFA such as peta, hsus, the human society. I do not capitalize those as I don't respect them as real organizations. I recognize them for putting a bad name on farmers and ranchers and hurting the industry. As Mike Rowe said this country is based on farming and mining and this so-called organizations are out to hurt and stop it. In my opinion we need an organization like the FFA to educate the younger generation and to put a fight up against these organizations. The organizations such as peta and hsus are thoughtless people that are trying to stop how many of us work and live. They don't believe in the good ole American way and that makes them unamerican to the most extreme measures. We need more people like Mike Rowe to speak up. Like he said why don't farmers want to be called farmers anymore? It has come clear to me, its because of these anti organizations. My question to these organizations is this? Do you eat? Do you drink? Do you live in a house? If the answer is yes then why are you hurting the industry that is feeding you and your family? Farming and Mining is what this country was based on when it first started and will always be based on. The sad thing is these organizations are winning the battle and killing the agriculture in this country. They are brain washing these people in the political spot light that really just don't have a clue what its like to put in a hard days work. Farmers in my opinion are my idols and i try to help them when I can. I mean even my job is based off farming and mining. If it wasn't for them i wouldn't even have a job on the railroad. I hope the future generations will still put a fight up to save this country. I may be rambling at this point but im trying to get my point across. These organizations are endangering our food supply and our way of life that few have worked to keep. Also the government is doing nothin to help either. Farms are being foreclosed on and the government wont help to keep them running. We must keep farms open n running plan n simple. I hate seeing these farms close and I especially hate seeing houses put up where a farm stood for so long through the generations. Where a farmer put his blood, sweat n tears into the land to not even break even at the end of the year, but got the satisfaction that he grew a crop or raised animals that fed families across America.
In closing we must open the eyes of the future generation and put up a fight against these organizations that are trying to put this industry out to pasture.

Life Currently
Been awhile since i have wrote. Been runnin around with my head chopped off. My walmart job kept me busy and when i wasnt there i was with the gf or huntin or helpin gf dad on a barn. Plus Christmas was a complete disaster. Me and my gf were involved in a car accident when some old lady "biting tongue" pulled out infront of me and me with quick thinking decided to swerve to miss her and ran out of room and nailed a guard rail. I knew if i were to t-bone her she would be seriously hurt and maybe even killed at 55mph. So i sacrificed my car and it ended up being totaled, which sux cuz i didnt get shit for it and i took great care of it. It was a 99 pontiac grand prix GTP with only 114,000. Luckily my 92 s10 with 150,000 was rarin to go. I had just put new tires on it, adjusted the rear brakes and did an oil change. Weird how shit works out that way. But got the car towed and got back to the house and cleaned the blood up on my chin where i smacked the steering wheel and realized i had a good sized gash, so on Christmas i went to the ER with the gf and her sister. While we were there both her parents and mine were at the house. I did kinda want our families together for Christmas, but not in this way. So went to ER and got 5 stitches and an x-ray of my jaw. Jaw was just severly bruised, havent broken a bone yet, just cut them. i ended up missing 2 days work. And for the record i was not wearing a seat belt and my gf was. I dont think it woulda turned out any different except my back and chest woulda hurt from the sear belt.
On the good side the week after Christmas i found i was goin back to work at Norfolk Southern as a conductor again. Bad news its in Alabama, one of the better choices outta the 5. So as i write this i am in a hotel in Selma, Alabama. Decent town kinda behind in times but not the worst place. I think i have found a house to rent out in the country just north of Selma in Valley Grande. Hopin to live there for bout a year or so,save money and buy like 20 acres or more and build a house. The gf is still stuck in Ohio for now :/ Thats a whole new story.
Well i oughta go to bed, think im first out. Im still qualifying on the district but i get normal wages which is nice, just long hours.

Whats on my mind
At this point in time my mind is running a million miles a minute. Wondering where i should i go and what i should do. Right now im just hangin on for the ride and gettin by with help from friends and family. Without them i dont know what i would do.
I have the option to take a volunteer permanent transfer from my home terminal of Bellevue to either South Carolina, Georgia, Maryland or Alabama. I'm leaning towards Alabama for 1. its warm 2. its country 3. prime huntin and fishin. So that is crossing my mind every minute. I'm hurrying to make to weigh the pros and cons, cuz i dont have but 5 days to decide to apply for the transfer. The GF is all for it.
I recently went through the CCW class and deciding on a pistol to buy, which i have it narrowed down to what i want. Which brings me to my next topic

For you of those that are the "city slicker" type you may be offended but i don't care cuz most of you are blind, stupid, and just don't see the real world. For it is the "city slicker" type that put us in the situation we are in now. As in the small town things move slower and we actually live for the moment and treasure every sunset and sunrise and hard days work and family. As i sit back and watch the news time from time, which isn't often cuz its huntin season for one and i like to stay busy. I see the U.S. Government fuckin up here and over seas over and over again. I think i can run it better, but that's just my view. I'm tired of the government tellin me what i can and cant do and the if shit keeps up we may lose more rights than we have already lost. But the way i see it history is starting to repeat itself. its reminding me of the revolutionary war way back in 1770's. Where England kept taxing us against our will cuz the king wanted more money. And if it keeps up there will be another revolution in our future where the people will revolt and take back OUR country. And guess who is goin to do it? The people that always get trampled on! And guess who that is... The blue collar class. which most of us rednecks are part of, and have the most guns. There are rumors floatin around that our guns are goin to get taxed more and even the ones we already own. Which will be a cold day in hell. If they try to pull the bullshit better watch out cuz we wont take that bullshit and will stand up and defend our "castle". I as many people that i know see the same thing and are prepared to do whatever it takes to defend our homes and families. So a warning to the government, DON'T PULL A JAPANESE MOVE AND WAKE A SLEEPING GIANT...
Now to huntin. Openin season for shotgun season is fast approaching, November 30 here in Ohio. Goin be good times huntin with the gf and her dad down at the farm slayin deer. Been bow huntin a few times, but with workin weird hours havent had much time. Already missed an 8pt buck mainly because i forgot my release and was shootin freehand which threw me off just enough to miss. My friend ended upo droppin the buck couple weeks later. But as with life theres always another day. Duck huntin has been fun. rocked a few geese's world but not been able to drop any. was never cold enough to get them to fly south from Canada. But my $150 Winchester 1400 12ga hasnt let me down too much tho, only wish it would hold 3 inch shells. Its also trappin season which my gf runs a trap line and usually works a fur shop in the winter, but with the bad economy, thanks city slickers. the prices aren't good enough for her boss to buy this year. She has managed to trap couple coon and several muskrats. It may not pay alot now but it is fun.
Fishing was fun this year as i got to go quite a bit and tried new places and caught some fish i haven't managed to catch before like crappie and smallmouth. Can't wait for fishin season again and when its fishin season cant wait for huntin season. but i hunt year round too. summer is good for coyote and woodchuck huntin.
This is all on my mind for now as i got to go to bed to work in the mornin and try to work on a couple wood projects before work. Its been a long hard week.
